Our training supports PE

How our training supports public engagement (PE)

Our training…

  • Prepares our attendees for participation in public outreach activities
  • Helps them to understand the political and social context in which PE activities take place
  • Assists and encourages them to put their public engagement skills into practice
  • Considers a range of methods on presenting contemporary research to different types of non-specialist audiences

The advanced training we offer further enhances public engagement because it…

  • Encourages attendees to consider larger scale and better targeted activities
  • Examines the process of successful engagement from ideas to delivery
  • Inspires participants to run new research-inspired events
  • Enables the sharing of experiences, allowing attendees to learn from the best practice of others

The Royal Academy of Engineering is driven by four strategic challenges, one of which is to 'promote engineering at the heart of society'. We have worked successfully with The Training Group to provide public engagement training for our most promising young engineers so that they can be more effective ambassadors for the engineering profession.
